Who's Gonna Win FSU/UF?

Florida comes into the game against the Seminoles ranked #1 in the country and riding a 21-game winning streak. Florida has Tim Tebow and Brandon Spikes. Florida has the #2 defense in the country. Florida will be playing this game at "The Swamp". This will be Tebow's final home game in front of the UF faithful.

Florida State struggled just to become bowl eligible. Florida State's defense is the worst it has been in recent memory. Florida State will be playing with a quarterback that has just two career starts. The Noles are playing with the turmoil surrounding Bobby Bowden, that has been around most of the season.

It defies all logic but I think the Seminoles pull this one out. Why? I have no idea. I mean that. There is every reason to believe that the Gators will clean the Seminoles clock from end zone to end zone at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Why wouldn't they? They are going to be playing for the SEC Championship in a few weeks with sights set on yet another National Championship.

Many reading this will feel I making this pick because I'm a FSU homer and you could be right about that. I also consider myself a realist as well and the Noles are not of the same caliber of the Gators, but my gut is just telling me that the Gators may be looking beyond this game. I think the Gators won't even consider this game a challenge and will try to breeze beyond the struggling Noles with all eyes on Alabama. The Gators have the better team and they know it. The Gators have the experience and know it. The Gators have the young hot shot coach and know it. The Gators have a Heisman trophy winning quarterback and know it. The Gators should win and they KNOW IT.

Florida State will be playing for pride. FSU does not want to go 0-3 against in state opponents. FSU will want to send Mickey Andrews out in his final game against Florida a winner. The Noles are wounded and that makes them dangerous. Jimbo Fisher will pull out all the stops on offense and throw some wrinkles in the Florida has not seen. The defense will play the game of their life for Coach Andrews. Florida State will be out to ruin the Gators season. This is Florida State's , national championship game. Call me crazy and I know you will but call me Sunday morning and tell me I was right.

FINAL SCORE: FSU 24 FLORIDA 19

  3. You need to take this show on the road because you're funny. Do you really think the semenholes stand a chance against the Gators and Tebow. Come on

  4. They know they're better because they are. They know they should win because they will. Pride won't help the Seminoles. Gators will hand a half a hundred on them. Final 50-3.

  5. FSU wins, maybe in few years but not this year. Not in Tebows last home game. Not when FSU is playing with a back-up qb who has never been to THE SWAMP!!!!!

  8. Amazing. How in the world can you pick FSU, with all they have done or haven't done this year, to beat the #1 team in the country at home? Dream on.

  9. Go back and look at some of his predictions of upsets this year and he has picked a few and they were suprises. This would be a huge suprise. Probably won't happen. The Gators have looked beatable and if the FSU team that played BYU on the road shows up they will have their hands full. Gators 28 FSU 10

  11. It's a rivalry game and anything can happen. FSU has to have at least two good games in them this season. On Saturday the winning streak ends.

  12. With Ponder we had a little bit of hope. Not that Manuel is a bad QB but it's going to be rough for him. He hasn't seen a defense like the Gators and only has two starts under his belt. I'm feeling it's going to be a long day for my Seminoles.

  14. I'm getting ready to go to lunch so I decide to check this blog out today. And what do I find but some crazy ramblings of a blogger who apparently has gotten into the moonshine up there in the Carolinas. I must admit that I'm jealous though because that shine has got to be real good.

  18. Thats going out on a limb with this pick. You can not be for real. I have to agree with what most of the other comments have said. You have got to be kidding.

  19. If he's right about this pick. I hope all of you will be back on here Saturday night or Sunday telling him so. I think he's wrong though.

  20. It is a win/win situation to pick the Noles. If he is right, he is a genius. If he's wrong, nobody really expected the Noles to win anyway and he was just holding out hope for his beloved team. Could FSU win? Sure. However, the X-factor is the Nole QB's youth in such a hostile environment. Florida would need to gift wrap some opportunities for FSU as well as have some major breakdowns on defense (ie. Ole Miss 2008 and Arkansas 2009). I really think that if it is a close game, advantage goes to Florida because of the Tebow factor. By the way, hope the refs aren't from the ACC! Remember the Swindle in the Swamp (last time FSU beat UF)

  21. Call him what you want....silly, wildly optimistic or just in denial....but I admire the passion. He's been right about some crazy upsets this year. I don't think it will happen...but won't it he be looking like a genius if he's right? If he is right, I'd like him to pick numbers for Wednesday's lottery drawing for me!!!
