MEMORABLE GAMES

2008- BOTH TEAMS RANKED IN THE TOP TEN. FLORIDA THROTTLES GEORGIA 49-10. THE LOSS IS THE WORST IN GEORGIA HEAD COACH MARK RICHT'S CAREER AND SECOND WORST LOSS FOR GEORGIA PERIOD. FLORIDA ALSO OWNS THE RECORD FOR THE WORST LOSS IN GEORGIA HISTORY IN 1997 LOSING 47-7

2007 -THE WHOLE GEORGIA TEAM RUSHING THE FIELD AND CELEBRATING THE BULLDOGS FIRST SCORE OF THE GAME BY STOMPING THE GATOR IN FLORIDA'S ENDZONE. GEORGIA WINS 42-30.

1995- STEVE SPURRIER CALLS A FLEA FLICKER WITH FIVE MINUTES TO PLAY UP 45-17 TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN. WHY? "TO SCORE HALF A HUNDRED" SPURRIER SAID, "WE HEARD KNOW ONE HAD EVER DOWN THAT BETWEEN THE HEDGES". NO ONE HAD AND IT SERVES AS GEORGIA'S WORST HOME DEFEAT IN ITS HISTORY.

1985 - THE GATORS COME INTO JACKSONVILLE UNDEFEATED AND RANKED #1 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY. BULLDOGS SPOIL THE PARTY BY UPSETTING THE GATORS 24-3.

1980 - THE CALL MADE FAMOUS BY GEORGIA ANNOUNCER LARRY MUNSON. "LINDSAY SCOTT, LINDSAY SCOTT, LINDSAY SCOTT". GEORGIA COMES FROM BEHIND TO WIN 26-21 AND GOES ON TO WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

I was listening to the 1980 game on the Radio. If memory serves me right.....The Play was 3rd and about 20, from inside Georgia's own 10, with less than a minute to go. Buck Belue was flushed out of the pocket, scrambling for his life and he found Lindsey Scott, who was covered, but the Gator defender fell down. Scott caught the ball and ran ... Read Moreuntouched for the TD. One of the darkest days in UF Footbal History. Belue is now a Sports Talk Radio Show host in Atlanta, and to this day, When I'm in ATL I change the station when I hear his voice.

  2. My favorites in the series:

    1. Mr Moreno, meet Mr. Spikes (2008). The hit that set the tone for the rest of the game.

    2. Night of the bubble screen 2002. Zook and Grossman beat highly ranked Georgia.

    3. Leak's first game against Georgia. Drives the team down for a winning field goal in the fourth quarter.

    4. Home game in Gainesville 1994. We blew their doors off.

    5. Win in the rain (1992). Gators overcome nasty conditions to win again.

    6. Florida never lost to Georgia when I was an undergrad as well as a grad student at Florida.

"I've been trying to find the actual results from the 1977 GA/UF Game.
But in that Game NSB's own Wes Chandler, a Two-Time All American WR, scored 2 rushing TDs in a 22-17 victory over Georgia
